Based in Nelson, Lancashire the company manufactures a variety of laminated and upholstered furniture from reception desks to wash units to motorised beauty couches.

We were asked to perform an analysis of a new design of sink base to ensure the deflections were acceptable under the weight of the sink (both level and tilted on an innovative tilting mechanism).

Although relatively simple compared to, say, an aircraft engine thrust reverser analysis the clients requirements were the same; that their product would perform to the required standard in operation.

The analysis showed that the deflections and stresses in the sink base were acceptable without further modification to the design.
