Finite Element Analysis (FEA) |
|
Finite element analysis is a technique whereby stresses in a complex
structure can be calculated. The structure is divided up into a series
of small sections (the "finite element") which are assembled together by
the computer program to form a finite element model. Loads are applied
and the model is restrained in a suitable manner and the analysis is
run. Stresses are then calculated by the computer program and displayed
on a computer screen. |
|
Finite element analysis is a computer based numerical analysis technique for calculating the behaviour of a structure under load. |

We can help you to develop your design through the prototyping stage, without the need for costly prototype manufacture and testing. Finite element analysis is able to validate designs at costs which can be an order of magnitude below the traditional build and test methods of design development. Of course there are significant reductions in development time too. |
|
All our finite element analysis work is performed using FEMAP with NX Nastran. Nastran is the 'defacto' standard for analysis in many industries, having originally been developed for NASA. You can be confident that with over 30 years' experience your analysis work is in experienced hands. |
|
Finite element models are created from CAD data (including IGES, PARASOLID, and ACIS) or your existing models in almost any format. We are up to date with and use all the latest methods and techniques to assist you better. Specialised investigations we can carry out include Rollover to ECE Regulation 66, seat belts to ECE Regulation 14 and Fire Engine water tank mountings. The many types of finite element analysis that we offer include:- |
- Static Finite Element Analysis
- Dynamic FEA (Normal modes, natural frequencies, forced response)
- Non linear FEA (non-linear material, large displacements, contact)
|
We also have a great deal of experience in STRESS ANALYSIS. |
